An act to amend Section 10701 of the Public Contract Code, relating to public contracts.

The existing California State University Contract Law sets forth a process through which contracts for projects, as defined, that are entered into with respect to the California State University may be competitively bid, entered into, and executed.

This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 10701 of the Public Contract Code is

10701.  

As used in this chapter:

4(a) “Project” includes the erection, construction, alteration,
5painting, repair, or improvement ofbegin delete anyend deletebegin insert aend insert state structure, building,
6road, or other state improvement of any kind. “Project” includes
7a project located on California State University property and
8performed pursuant to a contract entered into or awarded by an
P2    1auxiliary organization, as defined in Section 89901 of the Education
2Code, and funded in whole or in part by public funds.

3(b) “Service contract” meansbegin delete anyend deletebegin insert aend insert contract for services in
4connection with a project other than a project contract, and
5includes, but is not limited to, contracts for architectural,
6engineering, planning, testing, general studies, or feasibility
7services.

8(c) “Trustees” means the Trustees of the California State
9University and their designees.
