LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1250, as introduced, Villines. Postsecondary education: state-funded student financial aid. Existing law establishes various student financial aid programs that are funded by the state or a public postsecondary educational institution. Existing law provides that provisions of law applicable to state funded need-based grants do not apply to regulate the awarding of scholarships that are privately funded. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 69504 of the Education Code is amended to read: 69504.
