STAFF COMMENTS: SUSPENSE FILE.
SB 110 (Peace, Ch. 581, St. of 1999) eliminated the
integrated needs assessment requirement.
As proposed to be amended, the first assessment is due
December 31, 2002, and the plan and annual assessment shall
be submitted to the Legislature and Governor.
CEC staff indicate that preliminary cost estimates are $1
million one-time for data procurement, consulting, and
computer modeling, and staff costs of about $400,000
ongoing to prepare the annual assessment. The costs for
the renewable generation plan are probably minor.
